Questions about a figure on this site, a correction, or a suggestion for an occupation or state we should cover? Send us a message with the form below. If you are reporting a number that looks wrong, please include the page address and the figure in question so we can check it against the BLS source tables. We read every message; data questions and corrections are answered first.
What to include in your message
The fastest way to get a useful answer is to be specific. For a question about a wage figure, tell us the occupation, the state, and the page where you saw the number. For a correction, paste the figure you believe is wrong and, if you have it, the source you are comparing against — a BLS table, a state workforce agency page, or another official publication. Screenshots of job postings are not something we can act on: postings describe one employer's offer, while our pages publish survey estimates across all employers, so the two will often differ without either being wrong. If you are a student or journalist citing our data, you are welcome to do so with a link back to the page; the underlying data is public, published by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Corrections
We take accuracy seriously because readers make real decisions with these numbers. Every figure on this site is taken from published BLS OEWS values and spot-checked before publication, but errors can still slip through. When a reader reports a figure and our check against the source tables confirms a mistake, we correct the page promptly and note the correction at the foot of the page. If our check shows the published figure is correct, we reply explaining where the number comes from and how it was derived, so you can verify it yourself in the BLS tables.
Questions we cannot answer
A few limits are worth knowing before you write. We publish state-level and national figures; we cannot provide city, county, or metro-area wages beyond what appears on a page, and we cannot provide pay for a specific employer, a specific job posting, or an individual negotiation. We also cannot give personal career advice or predict future wages — the survey describes May 2024, and where pay is heading is outside what this data can say. For the full survey, including metropolitan and industry tables, the source is the Bureau of Labor Statistics at bls.gov/oes, linked at the foot of every data page.
Response times and privacy
We aim to reply within a few business days, with corrections handled first. During busy periods a reply can take longer, but every message is read. Please do not send sensitive personal information — your own salary details, documents, or identification — as it is not needed to answer data questions. Your name and email address are used only to reply to your message and are never sold or shared; see our privacy policy for details.
